Swine Fluke

This is a quote from Different Perspectives published March 2 2010:
'Our “progressive” Robin Hood of a President trotted out scientists projecting 120 million American swine fluke infections – we’re gonna lose 90,000 to this thing. Did he know he was being had or was he so naive? Either hurt. The World Health Organization said a third of the world would catch it, and hundreds of thousands would perish. While many college students called the puppet organization’s bluff, world leaders were not about to ruin their political careers just in case this one happened to be real – remember the devastation SARS and the Avian Fluke wreaked? Bird Fluke has claimed 282 lives to date, and cannot even spread from person to person.
Swine fluke was announced to be a pandemic in June and soon after Big Pharma saw approximately $10 billion in profit. The U.S. flushed $2 billion into the scam. Fear definitely muddles the mind, but greed is worse. Someone in our government must have been aware that WHO changed their definition of a pandemic only one month prior to “outbreak.” What was once “simultaneous epidemics worldwide with enormous numbers of death and illness” became “pandemics can be either mild or severe in the illness they cause.” As director of WHO’s Collaborating Centre for Epidemiology, Dr. Ulrich Keil said the severity of a disease no longer mattered. The redefinition becomes even more confusing when you read on the WHO Web site that there are “annual epidemics” of seasonal flu that claim between 250,000 and 500,000 lives. Elsewhere the Web site states swine fluke has only killed 14,000 worldwide, 4,000 in the U.S. – only a ninth of typical annual U.S. seasonal flu victims. Couldn’t these guys have contracted the Bush administration for help on successfully covering up a fear campaign?'
