No H1N1 conspiracy — medical officer

This is a quote from an article published at The Chronicle Herald October 23, 2009:
'You may have heard that the swine flu vaccination program is actually a cover for a government plan to kill people.
Or it’s just a scheme to fatten the wallets of pharmaceutical companies.
Dr. Robert Strang, Nova Scotia’s chief medical officer, has heard many conspiracy theories and rumours. It’s not making his mission of persuading people to get the H1N1 vaccine any easier.
"There are certain segments of society that don’t trust the government," he said Thursday. "It’s all a conspiracy to depopulate the world, that it’s sponsored by organized crime."'

Special Report: Is a vaccine an answer to swine flue?

This is a quote from an article published on JHWeekly October 23, 2009:
'Suspicions are aroused whenever money is at stake. Drug companies have already sold $1.5 billion worth of swine flu shots, in addition to the $1 billion for seasonal flu they booked earlier this year, according to ABC News. The government ordered another 12.8 million doses of nasal spray vaccine from MedImmune for $151 million when egg-cultured vaccines showed slow growth rates in early trials.
Venture capital firms specializing in Pandemic and Bio Defense portfolios are watching profits soar. Share prices of publicly-traded drug makers and suppliers are up sharply. Novavax stock escalated 75 percent to $1.42 per share on the first announcement of the swine flu outbreak in Mexico last spring.
Five drug giants are supplying this year’s swine flu vaccine in the U.S. – Novartis (46%), Sanofl Pasteur (26%), CSL (19%), MedImmune (6%), and GlaxoSmithKline (3%). '

New York State Rescinds Mandatory H1N1 Vaccine for Healthcare Workers
Link: http://www.opednews.com/articles/New-York-State-Rescinds-Ma-by-Richard-Gale-091023-109.html
This is a quote from an article at OpEdNews published 23. October 2009:
'People power is alive and well in New York State as evidenced by Governor David Patterson's and his Health Commissioner's decision on October 22 to immediately suspend the mandatory swine flu vaccine for the majority of New York's healthcare workers. The official “imprint” is that the decision is based on the shortages in vaccine lots; however, vibrant demonstrations in Albany, massive letter writing campaigns, two separate lawsuits, and blistering testimonies by vaccination critics before the state's health committee in New York City clearly played a major role in the decision.'
